Historian Vital Skalaban dies
He was 64.
Vital Skalaban was born in 1947 in the village Shylavichy, Slonim region. He graduated Leningrad University in 1970. He worked as an editor of "Belarusian Encyclopaedia" since 1972. He researched the history of the national movement and culture in 19-20 centuries. He was the one who discovered the real author of the poem "Taras at Parnas". Parting with the historian will take place on Tuesday.
