Almost 60% of the surveyed Ukrainians consider Belarus a completely authoritarian country. Such data were presented by the Institute of Political Studies Political Sphere, which conducted a special survey among residents of Ukraine and presented it at the 4th Astrozhski Belarus-Ukraine Forum in Lviv.
According to the results, 58.27% of Ukrainians think that Belarus is fully authoritarian, and 22.24% — that Belarus is mostly an authoritarian country.
36.77% believe that Belarus is a dependent state under full control of Russia.
The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians believe that Alexander Lukashenko is not the legitimate president of Belarus.
At the same time, the recognition of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has slightly declined, although she remains a well-known figure in Belarusian politics.
However, the idea of completely cutting ties with Lukashenko’s Belarus has lost popularity among Ukrainians. At the same time, the number of those who support Belarus’s democratic forces has remained roughly at the same level for the past three years.
