Belarusian opposition leaders meet in Vilnius

Belarusian frontier guards refused to let them cross the border earlier.

"The list of travel banned politicians is an anti-constitutional and political decision of the Belarusian authorities. The people on the list have the right to ignore it”, - reports “Solidarity” quoting Anatol Lyabedzka, head of the United Civil Party.

According to the UCP website, Belarusian frontier guards only allowed BPF leaders Alyaksei Yanukovich and Ryhor Kastusyou, representatives of the movement “For Freedom” Yury Hubarevich and Alyaksei Kavalets to leave for Lithuania. Representatives of the steering committee for the creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy and the campaign “Tell the Truth” are also expected to take part in the meeting. The problem of monitoring the parliamentary election is being discussed there.
