Kanstantsіn Lukashou’s case to be reconsidered
Another hearing of the case of Kanstantsin Lukashou is assigned for June 19. The judge will be T.Zhulkouskaya from Minsk Leninski District Court. Kanstantsin Lukashou was sentenced to two years of imprisonment with 2 years of adjournment on February 20. The civil activist was returned guilty of violation of art. 364 of the Criminal Code (resistance to the police).
The incident took place on March 29, 2006 when Lukashou did not obey a man in plain clothes who ordered him to stop his car while Kanstantsin was taking his brother Vyachaslau Siuchyk home from hospital. Later it turned out that the man was a policeman.
Kanstantsin Lukashou spent two months in the confinement cell. He was released after the trial and decided to send a complaint about the court’s decision. Minsk City Court Collegium cancelled the decision in April. A new trial is to take place on June 19.
