The husband of a well-known journalist who resigned from state radio in 2020, later headed the Belarusian service of Poland’s Radio Wnet, and was involved in auditing the Solidarity Marathon for political prisoners, has been found to possess a cover passport. This was reported by the outlet Nasha Niva.

The person in question is Fiodar Harbachou, an employee of the company Wargaming. He currently lives in Lithuania with his wife, Volha Siamashka. According to Nasha Niva , in 2018 Harbachou received an operational cover passport issued under the name Viktar Makaveeu. This document was verified with the help of Belpol. The faces in the passports are identical, and there are no phone numbers or property registered under the name Makaveeu in Belarus.

In a comment to the outlet, Harbachou denied having another passport intended for undercover or intelligence activity.

Volha Siamashka also denied that her husband possesses a cover passport or any of the other accusations mentioned in the article.

Euroradio, with the help of Cyber Partisans, verified the existence of the “cover passport” in the Belarusian passport database: the document does indeed exist and is issued to a person with more than 99.6% probability of being identical.
