Fire at Brest petroleum storage depot is extinguished
About 180 tons of petrol was burnt by a fire at a petroleum storage depot situated in the outskirts of Brest.
About 90 fire-engines were used to extinguish the fire. Local inhabitants were not evacuated and there are no victims.
A petroleum storage depot “Brestablnaftapradukt” situated in Brest caught fire on Saturday. The fire had the third degree of seriousness.
According to the regional administration of the Belarusian Emergency Control Ministry, “the reason for the fire could be a lightning discharge that struck a reservoir”.
