Brides and grooms in Minsk become older

Young people in the capital do not hurry to get married as soon as they are out of school. Such a conclusion can be made if we take a closer look at matrimony tendencies of the biggest district of Minsk - Frunzenski, informs the agency “Minsk-Naviny”. Only 7 applications on decrease of marrying age have been filed to the office of registration of acts of civil status since the beginning of the year . In all these cases the brides were 17, and the grooms were over 18. 10 years ago there was thrice more such young marriages. There were also underage grooms. In the year 2000 there were cases when girls got married in 15-16.

An average marrying age is now 23-26, while it used to be 18-20 before.
