Belarus doctors warn about Chinese milk powder
Belarus's Ministry of Health has issued a safety warning about the Chinese milk powder misxtures. Valiantsina Kachan, a deputy healthcare minister and the country's chief sanitary doctor, noted that children poisoning by dry milk powder mixtures were detected in China. These mixtures contain melamin, a substance used to manufacture plastics, polishes and glue.
In Belarus, Chinese dairy products are not registered in the national hygienic register and are not sold through official trade networks.
A high concentration of melamin causes stone formation in kidneys and the bladder.
