Asipenka will return home under an amnesty if the court confirms absense of losses of property
The administration of the colony in Ivatsevichy sent an enquiry to the court which took the decision in the case of the imprisoned individual entrepreneur from Vaukavysk Uladzimir Asipenka. The aim of the said enquiry is to clarify whether there are any unsatisfied property losses against the convict, confirmed by the court.
This was informed to the European Radio for Belarus by the Head of the Department of Serving Sentences in Brest region Mikalaj Sukhadolski:
"He will become a subject of the "Law on Amnesty", if there are no property losses as a result of his crime. We need the court to officially confirm that these losses have been satisfied, if there were any. In this case his term will be decreased for one year, in accordance with the Law.".
According to Mr. Sukhadolski, prisoners whose terms are at the moment less than a year will return home under an amnesty.
We remind that 56-year-old Uladzimir Asipenka was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment in a colony of a common regime upon the accusation in aiding and abetting Mikalaj Autukhovich. Asipenka served one third of his term in the pre-trial detention center and has now spent almost 3 months in the colony in Ivatsevichy. It is necessary to serve one fourth of the term to be a subject of amnesty.
