"Young Front" activists from Salihorsk spend a night in detention center
Ivan Shyla and Ryhor Astapenia were detained yesterday near the court building during an action of solidarity with Zmitser Dashkevich and Edward Lobau.
The activists had unfolded the streamer "Hands Off the Young Front", and immediately a dozen of plain-clothed agents seized them and dragged to a blue Volkswagen mini-bus, and then drove to an unknown direction. A couple of hours later it became known that the "Young Front" activists were in the Maskouski district department of internal affairs of Minsk. The policeman on duty informed they would be released in the near future. However, several hours later it turned out that Ivan Shyla and Ryhor Astapenia were in the detention center in Akrestsina Street.
It is likely that the administrative case of Ivan Shyla and Ryhor Astapenia, started against them for "participation in a non-sanctioned mass event", will be considered on March 23 by the same Maskouski district court of Minsk, which will resume hearings on Dashkevich/Lobau case today, the human rights center "Viasna" informs.
