Russia to allocate $17mn to boost safety at Chernobyl nuclear power plant

Russia is set to allocate $17 million to boost safety at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and to speed up phasing-out the notorious station, Sergei Kiriyenko, the head of Russian state nuclear agency Roasatom said in a statement at the 52th general conference of International Nuclear Energy Agency, the UN nuclear watchdog in Vienna.
