Unofficial Union of Poles collects money for Adrzej Poczobut
Collected money was given to the wife of the imprisoned "Gazeta Wyborcza" journalist Aksana on May 31 at the organization's meeting.
The money was handed by the Executive Chief of the Union of Poles Angelica Orechwo, Radio Liberty informs. Aksana Poczobut thanked the members of the organization, in which her husband heads the Chief Council. Belarusian authorities refuse to register the Union.
Andrzej Poczobut is a correspondent of the Polish newspaper "Gazeta Wyborcza". He faces 2-4 years of imprisonment for alleged slander and insult of the President. The journalist has been in custody in the pre-trial detention center in Hrodna since the beginning of April.
