Syarhei Malaletkin stops hunger strike
The motto of his hunger strike was “15 days of hunger instead of 15 days of detention”.
The 49-year-old inhabitant of Orsha has been on hunger strike since April 1. He did it in protest against the sentences pronounced to participants of Dec.19 events.
Syarhei Malaletkin is planning to stop his hunger strike at 8 p.m. on April 15, informs Radio Liberty.
The motto of his hunger strike was “15 days of hunger instead of 15 days of detention” as Malaletkin is sure that 15 days of arrest should be the maximum punishment for participation “in an unauthorized action” as it is indicated in the Administrative Code. That is why he thinks that it is unfair that opposition activists have been imprisoned for years.
