Raisa Mikhailouskaya becomes "Knight of the Year"

This year, the prize will go to human rights defender, head of the "Belarusian Documentary Center" Raisa Mikhailouskaya.

She was called "Knight of the Year" for organization of civil protection of the detainees and convicts on political reasons, and for her considerable input into preservation of historical and legal inheritance of Belarusians, informs Radio Liberty.

The award bears the name of Yury Zakharanka - the former Interior Minister and opposition leader, who disappeared in May 1999.
