Patriarch Kiryll's official visit to Poland starts today
The Head of the Russian Orthodox Church has never visited Poland before.
The Moscow Patriarch has never visited a
European country with Catholics being the majority of the population.
According to the information provided by RIA Novosti, Patriarch Kiryll will meet with
representatives of the Polish government, Orthodox believers and clergymen, and
will conduct a series of religious ceremonies, during his 4-days visit.
They say in the Moscow Patriarch Office that the visit to Poland shows the wish
of the Russian Orthodox Church to develop and strengthen the relations with the
Roman Catholic Church in Europe in the field of protection of common Christian
moral values.
