Mahileu activists to demand release of ex-presidential candidates

The opposition activists set a series of demands, the most important of which is to release the ex-presidential candidates Andrej Sannikau and Mikalaj Statkevich.

Apart from this, the applicants have an intention to demand to stop criminal harassment of the ex-presidential candidates and activists, arrested for participation in the peaceful action of protest against falsification of the election results, and also to investigate the facts of such falsification. 

"We will also declare our protests against tortures and inhuman treatment of the detainees, as well as against harassment of activists of political parties and civil organizations", — a coordinator of the regional coalition of democratic forces Jury Novikau has informed to BelaPAN.

According to him, among the 12 people who signed the application there are activists of local branches of political parties and civil associations, in particular, the BPF party, the Belarusian Left Party "Fair World", the UCP, the Free Trade Union. 

 They are going to conduct actions for 3 days in a row - March 25, 26 and 27.
