Head of Belarusian Catholic Chruch met new Pope several times

Metropolitan Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz has told this in an interview to the website of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus.

According to Kondrusiewicz, the newly elected Pope had nothing to do with Belarus. However, he is familiar with the post-Soviet territory as he contacted with his countryman in Russia and even visited Nizhniy Novgorod. Metropolitan Kondrusiewicz says that he talked to Cardinal Bergoglio on the situation with the Catholic Church in Russia several times.  As for the new Pope's meetings with other bishops, Metropolitan Kondrusiewicz knows nothing about it.

Besides, a holy mass of gratitude for the election of the new Pope will take place in Minsk Archcathedral Catholic Church on March 14 at 6.30 p.m. Metropolitan of Minsk and Mahileu, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz will conduct the mass.
