Head of Belarusian Catholic Chruch met new Pope several times
It happened during Episcopal Synods of the Catholic Church and various sessions in Rome.
Metropolitan
Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz
has told this in an interview to the website of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus.
According to Kondrusiewicz, the newly elected Pope had nothing to do with
Belarus. However, he is familiar with the post-Soviet territory as he contacted
with his countryman in Russia and even visited Nizhniy Novgorod. Metropolitan
Kondrusiewicz says that he talked to Cardinal Bergoglio on the situation with
the Catholic Church in Russia several times. As for the new Pope's meetings
with other bishops, Metropolitan Kondrusiewicz knows nothing about it.
Besides, a holy mass of gratitude for the election of the new Pope will take
place in Minsk Archcathedral Catholic Church on March 14 at 6.30 p.m.
Metropolitan of Minsk and Mahileu, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz will
conduct the mass.
