Extraordinary educational program named after Kalinouski to be opened today
Polish government has approved scholarships for 150 Belarusian students this year.
A festive opening of the extraordinary educational program named after Kastus Kalinouski will take place on March 21. Such a necessity occurred due to numerous expels of students from the Belarusian educational establishments after the December 19 events. Polish government has announced admission of students to the program, organized for the repressed youth back in January. Polish language courses will start soon for the students who have been chosen.
According to the information provided by the Committee for Defense of the Repressed "Solidarity", Polish government has approved scholarships for 150 students, 50 PhD students and 10 teachers.
The Committee's Chairperson Ina Kulei says that the program prescribes providing higher education and post-graduate studies to the people who went through arrests, detentions, expels from higher educational establishments or technical schools, searches and fines, as well as to the children of repressed politicians, members of civil organizations and campaigns, who suffered from the authorities' harassment, Radio Liberty reports.
