Distric newspapers join campaign of slander against independent journalists

As it was informed earlier, Barysau district newspaper "Adzinstva" joined the campaign of "revealing of the deceitful nature" of the journalist Pavel Sharamet. Two articles were published in this newspaper: "Sharamet is a liar. Finishing touches to the portrait." and "Turn around, son!" - about the Belarusian journalist Aliaksandr Klaskouski and his son, who is in custody in the KGB prison upon suspicion in December 19 mass disturbances.

State newspapers, namely, "Narodnaya Gazeta" and "Republic", started the campaign aimed at discrediting the independent journalists. District newspapers from Barysau to Mazyr also published these slander materials. The same articles under the same names appeared in Mazyr district newspaper "Life of Palesse", headed by Larysa Chornaya - an "A-level Belarusian publisher" (this is the way she signs her articles), and a delegate of the Third All-Belarusian Congress.

Larysa Chornaya is a frequent hero of the Belarusian humour fans' community - her "A-level" articles are constantly published there for colourful panegyrics to the authorities and curses to the opposition, the human rights center "Viasna" informs.
