Demonstration on anniversary of Chernobyl tragedy forbidden in Salihorsk
The executive committee stated the reason for this in the official letter as "unclear definition of the mass event form".
The applicant of the action Uladzimir Shyla calls the executive committee's decision another formal reply. "The point is, I executed the application on the picket blank, but stated the aim of the event as a demonstration for 100 people. But this is not essential. If the authorities wanted to grant the city dwellers their right for freedom of mass events, there wouldn't be any questions concerning such formalities", -Uladzimir Shyla has said.
Let us remind you, Salihorsk authorities forbade pickets called "For Stability" and "For Our President", and the picket against prohibition of pickets last week. A series of events dedicated to the Freedom Day were also forbidden in March, the human rights center "Viasna" informs.
