Bundestag member takes Mikita Lihavid under patronage
Bundestag and PACE member of the greens, Manuel Sarrazin, has taken the 20-year-old activist of the movement “For Freedom” under patronage.
The human rights organization “Libereco — Partnership for Human Rights” from Bonn has initiated the campaign “Prisoner’s Godparenthood”. The campaign’s goal is to provide every Belarusian political prisoner and their relatives with moral and political support from German MPs.
The essence of this approach is to keep an eye on the problems of the “adopted” political prisoners, support their families, render material assistance and distribute information about this and the other Belarusian political prisoners in order to free them, informs Radio Liberty.
Mikita Lihavid is the sixth person convicted for Dec.19 events who has been taken under German politicians’ patronage.
