Brest police detain homeless who came for food
Euroradio's listener has told about the incident which happened on February 5.
According to him, social activists were supposed to hand out food in the framework of the action "Food Not Bombs" at the crossroads of Mitskevich Street and Kuibyshau Street. The police detained five people and explained they had done it for "personal identification". They only let one old lady go.
According to the social activists, the food distributors did not arrive yet at that moment so there was no one to defend the homeless. As a result, after the checking conducted by the police only two people dared to get back to the place of the food distribution.
