Book of poetry published after censorship in Brest (photo)
Poet Ales Kasko had to eliminate several poems from the poetry book "Nothing More", published by a private company.
Kasko told about the mechanism of censorship at the creative party which took place in the Brest regional library.
Kasko: "At present, private publishing companies freely speak about censorship. It is easier to publish your works in state-owned publishing companies as they are not checked so thoroughly. You can possibly skip unnoticed. As for private companies, they are checked. And who wants to lose their business, work? Moreover, why should I let people down?"
Ales Kasko says that his poems are published in the newspaper format from time to time. The author hopes that they will also be published in a poetry book.
