Belarusian satellite launched into space
The launching was performed in Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 9.41 a.m. FET.
The Belarusian spacecraft (BKA) joined the Russian satellites "Kanopus V" and MKA-FKI, German TET-1 and Canadian ADS-1B, informs BelTA.
The BKA will provide space photos for the whole territory of Belarus. It weighs about 400 kilos and its panchromatic diapason expansion is about 2 km. The BKA has good dynamic characteristics which means that it is manoeuvrable and can change its position in orbit quickly to make photos at the required angle.
The first attempt to launch a Belarusian satellite into space was performed in July 2006. But the satellite "BelKA-1" did not reach space due to the crash of the carrier rocket "Dnyapro".
