"911" counterpart may appear in Belarus
The new service will react to the information about emergency situations and incidents.
This issue was discussed at
the state leader's consultative session on November 15. State Secretary of the
Security Council Leanid Maltsau came up with such initiative. According to his
words quoted by BELTA, it is
suggested to introduce a single phone number for rescuing services -
"112".
Maltsau says that the positive side of this system is that it will grant
extradepartmental control over registration of various incidents and crimes. Alyaksandr
Lukashenka ordered to work on this idea seriously.
