Lukashenka’s propagandist sparks outrage in Poland

Kiryl Kazakou / "Мінск-навіны"
Lukashenka's propagandist has angered the Poles. Kiryl Kazakou’s remarks about the need to incorporate the Białystok region into Belarus drew the attention of Polish media and the public.
“One can only watch with sadness how you’ve moved closer to Russia” (“Ze smutkiem patrzymy jak oddaliliście się Rosji”) — wrote someone on Kazakou’s Facebook page. Kazakou responded: “So we should’ve given ourselves to Poland? And what does that even mean?”
Another user commented: “I’d take Minsk in 7 days, overthrow Lukashenka, and install a democratic government. Solve the issue once and for all” (“Ja bym im zajął Mińsk w 7 dni, obalił Baćkę i wprowadził demokratyczny rząd. Załatwiając sprawę raz na zawsze.”)
Many are referencing history and the fact that Hrodna and Brest were once part of Poland: “As an editor of nothing, I propose attaching Hrodna and Brest to Poland” (“Ja naczelny redaktor niczego proponuję przyłączenie do Polski Grodna i Brześcia.”)
And some are digging even further back to the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth:
“I accept the proposal under one small condition — that all of Belarus be part of the Commonwealth” (“Przyjmuję propozycję pod jednym małym warunkiem, żeby cała Białoruś znalazła się w ramach Rzeczpospolitej :-)”)
