KGB confirm that investigator took Mikhalevich's passport
However,it is unknown whether he will be under international retrieval.
Ex-presidential candidate Ales Mikhalevich's passport was confiscated by the investigator. A representative of the KGB has informed BelaPAN about this.
Let us remind you that the former presidential candidate is accused of December 19 mass disturbances. He spent two months in KGB prison and in Valadarski Street detention centre and was released on recognizance on February 19. A bit later Mikhalevich claimed at a press conference in Minsk that he had been tortured in prison.
Ales Mikhlaveich wrote in his blog: “I am in a safe place out of KGB’s reach now" on March 14 at night.
According to the website of the movement “For Freedom”, Ales Mikhalevich left Belarus at night the trip abroad took almost a day. Mikhalevich could go only to Russia without passport, but his whereabouts is unknown.
His family stayed in Minsk.
