Kazulin writes to Belarus Prosecutor General

The former presidential contender now in jail as a political prisoner, Aliaksandr Kazulin, has sent a letter to the Belarus Prosecutor General, demanding to open a criminal case against Aliaksandr Lukashenka over his public admission that the results of the last presidential elections in Belarus were forged. Kazulin's move was made public by Igar Rynkevich, his lawyer, who had a meeting with the politician on February 8.

According to Rynkevich, Aliaksandr Kazulin stressed that the statement by Lukashenka about election rigging was announced publicly and distributed by the print and electronic media. Therefore, the Office of the Prosecutor General had to react independently, not waiting for calls from the members of the public.
