George Bush hopes Serbia will join NATO
The US President George Bush hopes that Serbia will join the North Atlantic Alliance.
The US President made a speech in Zagreb. He arrived there after a NATO summit where the admission of Croatia in the alliance had been announced.
"We welcome the citizens of Montenegro and Macedonia to develop this dialogue (about joining NATO) and we are hoping that free and flourishing Serbia will also occupy its position in the North Atlantic Alliance together with its neighbours”, - said Bush.
NATO member states approved the decision about allowing Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia to proceed to the stage of “an intensive dialogue” on their way to joining the alliance. By the way, Serbia has not asked for it unlike its neighbours.
