The co-founder of the "Free Theater" Natallia Kalyada received the Order of the British Empire. She was on the list of those honored on the occasion of the King's birthday.
The Order of the British Empire is awarded to people who have contributed to the arts and sciences, work with charities and social organizations, and public service.
"Natallia Kalyada and Mikalai Khalezin were nominated for the award during the lifetime of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - this was the last list of applicants for the award submitted for her consideration," Khalezin wrote on social media.
The new King Charles III approved the award.
