Chinese DeepSeek tops AI rankings in Belarus

Deepseek has outpaced all other AI tools among users in Belarus. According to Similarweb data, among Android apps, the Chinese application ranks 7th, ahead of Chatbot AI, ChatOn, and other similar chatbots. The world’s most popular AI — ChatGPT — does not even make it into the top 10 apps in the “Productivity” category.
Among iPhone users in Belarus, Deepseek also outperforms its competitors. The app ranks 2nd in the overall list.
According to Semrush data, the Chinese AI also ranks first among competitors in terms of website views: 3.22 million views. ChatGPT follows closely in the overall ranking with 3.17 million, but unlike Deepseek, it does not work in Belarus.
As Euroradio has previously reported, the Chinese AI spreads propaganda, including on topics such as Taiwan, the events on Tiananmen Square, and even in response to questions about Winnie the Pooh. At the beginning of 2025, the Deepseek app began to be blocked in European countries.
