Belarusians buy 1000 diamonds from Central Bank

Almost 1000 diamonds with a total weight of 186 carats have been sold by the National Bank of Belarus by February 2007. The Belarusians have paid $353,000 for them.

The Central Bank started selling diamonds to the population in December 2005. A new product, offered to invest the money, has enjoyed popularity.

Experts note all the diamonds without exception have been in demand, reports Zviazda newspaper.
