Belarus to build nuclear plant for $5-6bn

Belarus might begin the construction of a nuclear power plant in January 2009 or even earlier, Belarus's first vice prime minister Uladzimir Siamashka today told reporters in Minsk. The construction costs will amount to approximately $5-6 billion, he said. 
The first power block is planned to be commissioned in 2016, while the second block is scheduled to become operational in 2018, reports the official news agency Belta
