All "December 19" trials should be open

The appeal, which is signed by the Mission's representative in Belarus Kastus Baranau and the head of the Mission Andrej Yurau, says about an intention to conduct a civil monitoring of court trials against the participants of the December 19 events. For this, the authorities should provide free access to the court trials to the monitoring groups observers and representatives of the media, the human rights organizations, and the society. 

The mission also demands that the authorities should announce the decisions on these cases with regard to all the accused in public, including piblications of these decisions in the mass media, and grant fulfillment of all the procedural norms during the court hearings on the said cases in accordance with the national legislation and the internatioal obligations of the Republic of Belarus.
