Trial against Ales Byalyatski to be resumed today
New charges against the human rights defender will be announced today.
The trial will be resumed at 10 a.m. in the Maskouski district court of Minsk. The prosecutor asked the judge for a several-days break at the previous hearings. He explained that he needed time to reword the accusation. Human rights defenders and lawyers think that Byalyatski might be accused of activity on behalf of an unregistered organization instead of tax evasion. According to another version, one more accusation might simply be added to the previous one.
Let us remind you, Ales Byalyatski is accused of tax evasion in especially big scope. He faces up to 7 years of imprisonment.
