STV: Ecological catastrophe happened in Talachyn district
The reason for this was the unsolved issue of waste disposal of the Talachyn starch plant.
The STV TV-channel informs that, according to the ecologists' calculations, about 11 thousand of the river inhabitants died, in the first place, roach, perch and pickerel. The index of pollution surpassed the norm by 8,5 times. The losses made 700 million roubles (which is more than 80 thousand dollars). The enterprise is facing the prospect of being fined now.
