Editor-in-chief of “Zvyazda” is fired
Lukashenka appointed Ales Karlyukevich to the position occupied by Uladzimir Narkevich on November 8.
The former editor of one of the main state newspapers had occupied the position for 22 years. He was supposed to retire in seven months. According to the editorial staff, the dismissal of Narkevich was unexpected, informs Radio Liberty.
The new editor, Ales Karlyukevich, is a graduate of the faculty of journalism of Lvov Military Institute. He was the last editor of “Red Shift”. He headed the editorial and publishing institution “Literature and Art” and was the editors of the newspaper of the same name before the new appointment.
