Brest activists fail to achieve abolishment of court's decision
They complained about prohibition of pickets against repressions with regard to the authorities' opponents.
On January 12, the court collegium on civil issues of the Brest regional court considered a complaint filed by a group of activists. Human rights defender Raman Kislyak has informed to BelaPAN that deputy chairman of the civil organization "Perspective", Brest inhabitant Victar Chaikouski had filed an application for the action to the Brest city executive committee. They planned a series of pickets aimed at turning the public's attention to the problem of political prisoners.
It was planned to hold pickets every day at 5-7 p.m. on October 1-5 in different places of the city under the slogans "Freedom to political prisoners!" Stop tortures and persecution!".
