Belarusian train runs off track near Daugavpils
It transported oil products.
The accident happened late at night on January 8. According to the information provided to BelaPAN by the concern "Latvian Railways", 16 carriages ran off the track, and oil products - oil and solvent - were spilled.
No casualties have been reported. The quantity of spilled oil products has been unknown so far. They state in the Latvian fire rescueing service that the efflux is of local character and does not threaten with any serious consequences. Works on liquidation of the accident's consequences are being done at the moment at the accident site.
