Anarchists’ trial to continue today
The defendants were interrogated in court yesterday. Witnesses are expected to be interrogated today.
The trial of members of the anarchist movement will continue in Minsk Zavadski District Court at 10 a.m.
Maxim Vetkin, Yauhen Selyavonchyk, Ihar Alinevich, Mikalai Dzyadok and Alyaksandr Frantskevich’s trial began on May 18. The anarchists are accused of an unauthorized action organized near the building of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense in 2009. They are also said to have thrown “Molotov cocktails” at the Russian Embassy to Minsk and the detention centre in Akrestsina in 2010. The anarchists have also been accused of some other attacks on buildings: “Shangri-La” casino and the Federation of Trade Unions. Frantskevich is also accused of having hacked the website of Navapolatsk City Executive Committee, informs BelaPAN.
All of them may be imprisoned for up to 12 years.
