Another important investor has left the country / Euroradio
A major German investor and one of the world leaders in the production of optics Carl Zeiss has left Belarus, writes planbmedia.io. Such a decision was taken after its long-time partner - BelOMO - fell under the EU sanctions in the summer. In order to withdraw from the German-Belarusian joint venture Zeiss-BelOMO, the management of Carl Zeiss took several weeks to think about it.
The media outlet emphasizes that Carl Zeiss is a pioneering investor that found a place for its business in Belarus about 30 years ago.
In the summer it emerged that Zeiss-BelOMO was being transformed from a manufacturer of medical equipment into a producer of sights for small arms and armored vehicles for the Russian army.
