Br132m-worth contraband dropped by smugglers in Belarus train

A large batch of contraband clothes and footwear was seized by the customs and the police in Brest on a Brest-Novosibirsk train, reports Interfax. 29 baskets with men's shoes, 8 baskets with women's bathing suits and 5 bags with foreign-made clothes -- all worth over Br 132 million ($61,000) were recovered from the baggage shelves in one of the compartments on a Novosibirsk-bound train.

None of the passengers admitted to owning the commodities. The customs authorities are investigating.
